The impact of a QDRO on the Kore1, LLC 401(k) Plan depends on how contributions were made. Usually, the employee spouse contributes through payroll deductions, and the employer may provide matching or discretionary contributions. The employer contribution portion may be subject to a vesting schedule, meaning some of it might not be fully owned by the employee spouse yet. QDROs can address this by stating that only vested funds are subject to division—or by anticipating future vesting.
