Employee vs. Employer Contributions
In many 401(k) plans, including the Veridiam, Inc.. Retirement Savings Plan, employees contribute their own money, and employers may match a portion. The tricky part comes with employer contributions, because they often come with a vesting schedule.
Let’s say your spouse received a 100% match up to 6% of their salary—but is only 40% vested after two years of service. The unvested portion is off-limits to you in the QDRO. We’ll help you determine which part of the account is available for division.
