1. Employee and Employer Contributions
In most 401(k) plans, employees make pre-tax or Roth contributions, and employers may match those contributions. When drafting the QDRO for The Feed.com Inc. 401(k) Plan, it’s important to specify the percentage or dollar amount of the total account balance, including both employee and employer portions, that the alternate payee will receive.
If you simply state “50% of the account,” it could mean different things depending on how the plan is interpreted. For accuracy, we recommend clearly separating account types and contributions where possible.
