Splitting Employee and Employer Contributions
In the case of the Benefit Plans Committee, Sun Life Financial U.s. Services Company, the 401(k) account likely contains contributions from both the employee and the employer. When you’re dividing the account, make sure the QDRO clearly distinguishes between what portion of the account is subject to division.
