Vesting and Employer Contributions
401(k) plans often include both employee and employer contributions. In the Air Tiger Express (usa), Inc.. 401(k) Savings Plan, employer contributions may be subject to a vesting schedule—meaning those funds don’t belong to the employee until after a certain number of years on the job. If your former spouse is not fully vested at the time of divorce, their unvested employer contributions cannot be divided by the QDRO.
